Play single note melodies. Forget about structure and just play what you feel. Wait at least a day before you listen to the tape. Then find a part you like and try to hear the natural chord pattern behind it or try different chords until you find one you like.
Record chord progressions or one chord grooves. Then practuce soloing to them. Try coming up with harmonized leads. |
